Russ Rasmussen, Attorney at Law

Russ Rasmussen A small, professional, neighborhood law firm providing personalized representation from the Clairemont area to and throughout San Diego County for more than 30 years. We are located at the corner of Genesee and Balboa in the Clairemont Professional Building with easy access and free parking. As a traditional law firm rather than a mill or a clinic, we provide quality, professional services on an individual basis at reasonable rates. We represent clients in the consumer practice areas of Family Law (Divorce), Bankruptcy (Chapter 7), and Probate, as well as major personal injury claims.

I am willing to personally speak with prospective clients on the telephone for a few minutes even before meeting with them. Feel free to call and see. I am happy to answer general questions and to provide an estimate of fees for ongoing representation.

CURRENT EMPHASIS: DEBTOR REPRESENTATION - More and more of my practice in this depressed economy (job losses, residence foreclosures, credit card debt, uncovered medical bills, unpaid mortgages, reduced home values, etc.) involves debtor representation. While the new (2005) Bankruptcy Code attempted to discourage Chapter 7 bankruptcy filings, this remedy still remains available to almost everyone. Indeed, the number of Chapter 7 bankruptcy filings in San Diego by California residents who seek bankruptcy protection has increased to 2005 levels. If you need debt relief, if you need to stop a home foreclosure or a vehicle repossession, if you need to stop harassing creditor calls or threatened collection litigation, if you cannot pay your credit cards or other debts, if you need time to modify your home loan or deal with a mortgage default, then Chapter 7 bankruptcy may be your best option.

HISTORICAL EMPHASIS: FAMILY LAW INCLUDING DIVORCE AND PROBATE REPRESENTATION - Notwithstanding my current emphasis on debtor representation, historically my practice has emphasized the twin (life and death) areas of Family Law (Divorce/Dissolution) and Probate (Estate Proceedings). If you need to dissolve your marriage, or if you need to modify your Dissolution Judgment, or if you need to implement and/or enforce your Dissolution Judgment, then there are legal procedures available to professionally do so. And if your family member dies, then there are (again) legal procedures available to distribute their estate including but not limited to probate. We can help with either.
